Mediengespräch mit Yusra Mardini Berlin, 18. März | IOC, DOSB, LSB und Wasserfreunde Spandau informieren

Das IOC sucht derzeit Flüchtlinge mit Chancen für eine Qualifikation zu den Olympischen Spielen Rio de Janeiro 2016. Eine von drei bisher bereits identifizierten Athletinnen ist die 17-jährige Syrerin Yusra Mardini, die mit ihrer Familie nach Deutschland flüchtete und bei den Wasserfreunden Spandau 04/Berlin trainiert.

Wir laden Sie herzlich ein, an einer Medienrunde mit Yusra und ihrem Trainer Sven Spannekrebs teilzunehmen. Für das IOC informiert Pere Miro, Direktor Olympic Solidarity und NOC Relations über die Flüchtlingsinitiative. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is supporting refugee athletes who could potentially qualify for the Olympic Games Rio de Janeiro 2016. One of them is 17 year old Syrian swimmer Yusra Mardini who fled to Germany with her family and who is currently training with Wasserfreunde Spandau 04/Berlin.

We would like to invite you to a media opportunity with Yusra and her coach Sven Spannekrebs. Will also be present Pere Miro, Deputy Director General of Relations with the Olympic Movement and Director of Olympic Solidarity and NOC Relations, who will talk you through the IOC’s initiative, and Michael Vesper, CEO of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and Klaus Böger, President of the Berlin Sports Confederation who will both talk about refugees and sport in Germany.
